Yarm School Association

The Yarm School Association was formed by a volunteer group of parents who, in partnership with staff representatives, promote and organise social activities within the School.

We aim to bring together the whole school community in a relaxed and social environment, fostering the needs of parents, staff and perhaps most importantly, the pupils via an inclusive approach as we believe a combined community brings so many wider benefits.

The YSA Social Committee welcomes support, assistance or any suggestions for events from any parent or staff member and can always be contacted via email to ysa@yarmschool.org, or through the School Reception on 01642 786023.

Social Committee Meeting Dates

The YSA Social Committee meets in the Sixth Form Centre at 7.30pm once a month during term times to discuss the Association’s activities and to plan events. Parents are always welcome at these meetings; particularly the AGM in February. Mrs Claire Abbas chairs this committee and she is always happy to help if you would like to learn more about the YSA, join the committee, or simply put forward ideas for events. You can contact Claire and the team via ysa@yarmschool.org.

Parents Squash Session: Friday, 14th June
Join us for a fun squash session at Yarm Squash Club – all welcome, from beginners to advanced players. £7 per person, includes rackets and balls if you need them, and refreshments afterwards.

Casino Royale Ball: Saturday, 15th June
After the resounding success of last year’s Festival-themed ball, the YSA are organising a spectacular Casino Royale Bond-themed Summer Ball this year! It promises to be a wonderful evening, with drinks on the terrace, fundraising casino tables, a delicious three course meal, and fantastic live music from The Bourbon Street Band. We’re delighted that pianist and vocalist Charlie Cooper, who has performed with Jools Holland, is joining the band on their visit to Yarm this year! There will be a charity auction with fabulous prizes – look out on social media as we announce these. The auction is in aid of the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity (CRY) who work to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and support affected families. Vitality Dental Care are kindly match-funding £1000 of what we raise at the auction – thank you so much to Vitality Dental Care for their support.
We’re also holding a raffle in aid of the YSA for some goodie-packed hampers made up of donations from our 1st and 2nd Year tutor groups.
